2020年5月7日、8日，民族学研究院以腾讯会议视频的方式举行了旁遮普大学-东北大学秦皇岛分校联合学位项目2018级历史学博士学位研究生开题报告会。开题报告会根据博士生的研究方向分成两组进行，即田野中国学和民族文化组、中外民族交往史组。第一组由东北大学秦皇岛分校谭必友教授主持，评议专家有青海民族大学骆桂花教授、四川农业大学窦存芳教授、东北大学秦皇岛分校陈凯教授、龚志祥教授、贾圣武教授，参加开题的有田野中国学、“一带一路”沿线国家民族文化、“一带一路”沿线国家经济史研究方向的8位博士生进行开题；第二组由东北大学秦皇岛分校郝庆云教授主持，评议专家有吉林大学高福顺教授、黑龙江省社会科学院谷文双研究员、东北大学秦皇岛分校穆崟臣教授、赵杰教授、董劭伟教授、王莲英教授，参加开题的有中外民族交往史、满学研究方向的6位博士研究生。
博士生的学位论文选题与中巴联合学位项目的宗旨及“一带一路”沿线国家民族历史文化问题紧密结合，如阿拉伯文书法与汉字书法比较研究、中巴基础教育比较研究、拉合尔与哈尔滨两城市的铁路建设与城市化比较研究、黑龙江省与旁遮普省行政建置比较研究、犍陀罗艺术对中国西域佛教造像影响、檀香民族志、板球与国家认同、巴基斯坦高等教育史、俾路支斯坦社会文化历史等。评议专家对选题的意义、研究方法、文献资料，学术规范性等进行了精准点评，提出了很多中肯的意见和建议，指出有的选题在一带一路沿线国家民族历史文化研究领域具有开拓性和前沿性。
PU-NEUQ JOINT DEGREE PROGRAM
14 Doctoral Candidates in the Joint Program Have Passed Their Proposal Defense
The proposal defense for PhD dissertation in history under the 2018 joint degree program of PU-NEUQ was successfully held online on May 7th and 8th, 2020 in NEUQ, China. Based on the research direction, 16 students, who have submitted their dissertation proposals, were categorized into two groups: Field Chinology & Ethnic/National Culture Group, and History of Sino-Foreign Communication.
8 students, whose research are about Field Chinology, National Cultures along One Belt One Road and Economic History of Countries along One Belt One Road were put into Group 1. The defense of this group was held on May 7th, which was chaired by Professor Tan Biyou of NEUQ, who is also a visiting professor of University of the Punjab. Among the defense committee were Professor Luo Guihua from Qinghai Nationalities University, Professor Dou Cunfang from Sichuan Agricultural University as well as Professor Gong Zhixiang, Professor Chen Kai and Professor Jia Shengwu from NEUQ.
6 students, who do research on History of Sino-Foreign Communication, were put into Group 2. The defense of this group was held on May 8th, which was chaired by Professor Hao Qingyun of NEUQ, who is also a visiting professor of PU. Among the defense committee were Professor Gao Fushun from Jilin University, Researcher Gu Wenshuang from Heilongjiang Provincial Academy of Social Sciences, as well as Professor Zhao Jie, Professor Mu Yinchen, Professor Dong Shaowei and Professor Wang Lianying from NEUQ.
The research topics of these doctoral candidates are all closely in accordance with the purpose of the Joint Degree Program of PU-NEUQ, focusing on ethnic/national history and culture of the countries along One Belt One Road, such as Comparative Study of Arabic and Chinese Calligraphy; Comparison Research on Basic Education Between China and Pakistan; Comparative Study on Railway Construction and Urbanization Between Lahore and Harbin; Study of Nationality in Film Culture——A Case Study of China & Pakistan Films; Comparative Study of Administrative Construction in Heilongjiang Province and Punjab Province; Buddhist Statues under the Influence of Gandhara Art in the Western Regions of China; Ethnography Research of Sandalwood; Cricket and National Identity Research; History of Higher Education in Pakistan; Social Culture and History of Baluchistan and so on.
The defense committee made accurate comments on the significance, research methods, literature review and academic norms of the topics, and put forward many pertinent opinions and suggestions, pointing out that some topics are pioneering in the field of ethnic/national history and culture research in countries along One Belt One Road.
